Patchett's is one the oldest companies trading in Upminster, having commenced business in 1929 when two brothers, Oswald and William Patchett, opened a grocery and provision store in St. Mary's Lane (opposite the now Somerfield site). In 1946, after World War II, a fruiterers and greengrocery department was added and they traded from two shops at 304/306 St. Mary's Lane. The business continued until the fifties when the partnership was dissolved and William sold the grocery business and departed to Cornwall to open an hotel.
Brother Oswald, now with son Barrie, then started and developed Patchett's Transport, which over the years eclipsed the retail shop and now trades exclusively as a removal and storage company from their premises/depot situated in Front Lane, Cranham, which is now controlled by 3rd generation son, Gavin Patchett.
It takes years of skill and experience to plan a trouble-free move. At Patchett's, we have over 40 years' experience. We pride ourselves on the level of service which we provide to all our customers. Our staff are always friendly, helpful and fully conversant in all aspects of removals and storage.
